Cookies & browser storage

Guidance for approved adults testing FableFlight with fictional accounts and stories.

What keeps you signed in

FableFlight uses secure sign-in cookies so the server can recognize your browser. Adult, group-learner and restricted independent-account sessions use separate cookies. Temporary cookies also support sign-in, account recovery or reactivation, and contact-email changes when those flows are used.

Session cookies can remain for up to eight hours; access may end sooner because of sign-out, revocation or preview restrictions. Other flow cookies have their own shorter or longer limits. A cookie remaining on your device does not guarantee the session is still authorized.

Drafts, downloads and cached files

The current editors keep unsaved writing in the open page, not a persistent browser draft store. Reloading, closing the tab or signing out can lose it. Save successfully or download the draft before leaving.

Downloaded stories and account files remain on your device until you remove them. Clearing website data does not remove those downloads or delete your online account. Your browser may cache page assets and public background images.

On a shared device

  1. Save your work or download a copy before signing out.
  2. Use the sign-out control for the account you were using. Adult and learner sessions are separate; sign out of each one you opened.
  3. Remove downloaded private files if other people use the device. Clear this site’s cookies and site data through your browser settings if you need to remove its local sign-in state.

Blocking cookies can prevent sign-in and account changes from working. Clearing cookies is not a substitute for revoking other devices through account security, and it does not erase server records.

Diagnostics and other services

The application sends limited troubleshooting metadata about known controls, requests and timings. It does not use browser draft storage as a backup and does not send typed story text in its diagnostic timeline. Read the diagnostic scope and limitations.

AWS sign-in pages and Stripe sandbox checkout may use their own browser storage when visited. This page describes FableFlight’s application behavior, not a complete inventory of every provider’s cookies. These information pages contain no scripts or data-entry forms.
